Hello Folks,
I am new to the forum and need help.
When I start up ME my desktop shows up then it goes all white background and a box with restore my active desktop shows up. Then my Adelphia Freedom security pack (anti virus,spyware firewall ect) starts to open. When it gets to freedom is initializing it shuts everything down and goes to a blue screen. On the screen a gray box that says CASV DVP and another message on the screen says scan engine initialization has failed press any key to continue. It won't continue so I have to do a manual shut down 4 or 5 times to get started. I can do this with my cable modem on or off and with freedom disabled at startup. I got 2 different answers from adelphia thet the new freedom upgrade is and isn't compatible with ME at 2 different times. I ran the scandisk and it repaired what it needed to but I still have the problem.

Have you tried uninstalling Freedom?
Does this solve the problem?

It's indeed possible that this software is not compatible with Windows ME.

I have tried the un & re install several times. If they don't get Freedom compatiable with me I may have to go to a dsl company and drop the cable. I don't want to have to run my quick restore disks and loose all of my information and misic. I did a scan disk and it made several repairs in my C files.

Can you check on the CD or on the packages what the system requirements are?
What operating system are given?

I have been running Freedom for about two years and haven't had any problems. I am thinking it may be a ME problem. It lists ME as ok.

Have you been running Freedom for 2 years on ME, or before on other OS?

If it has been working on ME before, then let's have a look if it might be a malware problem, if you follow the instructions in the 'Prework' link below in my sig and post the log files when done, then we'll have a look at that.
