Windows 95, 98 & ME - [Resolved] ME crashes when freedom security starts posted in the Operating Systems forums; Yes it was running on me since I have been using it for 2 years. Adelphia did a major upgrade and it started right after the upgrade....

Yes it was running on me since I have been using it for 2 years. Adelphia did a major upgrade and it started right after the upgrade.

Then it looks like they might have decided to just ditch ME users...

Why don't you have a look in our download section for all the free protection apps you'd need, and uninstall the Freedom security pack?

I tried the prework but no hidden files come up Am I missing something?

I have tried free versions of various repair spyware and free scans. Would some of these be floating around giving me problems? If so should I run my quick restore disks and format the hard drive and re install windows again? I have had to do this before to get things running right again. It may be my side causing the problem. Can I isolate media player so my music dosen't get wiped out when I run the disks?

What do you mean exactly? You couldn't find the option to set hidden files to show, or you didn't see any files appear?

And if you completed the Prework then post the HijackThis and Ewido logs please for us to look at.

What apps did you install? And do you have more then one running realtime protection next to each other?

You could always uninstall them again from add/remove programs.

You could copy them to a seperate partition/harddisk if you have any, or copy them to cd/dvd.
