nowi seem to have a new problem every time i get half way through something im trying to do i get a message coming up and it says that internet explorer has a problem or something and needs to close and it asks to send the error report or dont send the error report

Ok, as this was your friends copmuter, I would suggest formatting - getting rid of all his junk, and reinstalling windows

With the speed tweaks that i used to know, they were for the autoexec.bat and config.sys files...I'll try relocating them for you.


ps. sorry i didn't reply sooner, i've been at work and not had a chance to look through the forum properly, only a quick glance here and there.

its not a problem. i dont think i can format because i wasnt given no disks with the pc, just the tower itself, so i dont have the win 98 disk to format it with.

Perhaps get in touch with your friend? he'll probably still have the cd.
