Unhappy [Pending] Line 27
What is the most common reason that CONFIGSYS line 27 would become corrupt? 2nd time happening to me in the past 6 months. Had to re-install WIN98SE over the top (again) and that seems to have stopped the lockups.. for now... but this is getting really maddening!!!! I believe my system info is still showing.

Hey Sir Trews,

My guess would be a malware infection. Your Config.sys file gives basic commands to the computer.

Why don't you download Spy Sweeper from my signature, open PreWork, and donwload CCleaner, and HijackThis.

Run CCleaner according to the instructions, then run a full system scan with Spy Sweeper, save and post the log back here along with the log from HijackThis.

I have Spy Sweeper,but not updated... I am still going to do as you suggested here and continue, but my last scancame up negative.. ahh... thenagain.. (gain) was in there and was deleted. We'll see soon... and thank you again.

Ahh yes.. those Spy Sweeper logs... as I had already installed an earlier version, when I d/l'd the one you sent me to, it came up with the demo expired deal.. now I can't run either one. It was working, just older definitions and really only found that (GAIN) issue. Everything else clean. The only other thing I have is Error Killer. That isn't one that impresses me all that much either. As for the Line 27 issue? A re-istall of Windows... so far so good... really didn't want to do that, but really had no choice. Now to see if I can get the TDK burner going, but that will be for the morrow. Thanks for looking into what you already have tho!

btw..just checked the Spy Sweeper site again...mayhap a slightly different d/l... and i'll see what I can do about cleaning out the other.
