Default Dual Boot

Hi Chris,

If you have access to something like Partition Magic 8 or similar, you can actually use free disk space to create a second partiton. I have a laptop which had XP Pro, I partitioned the disk to 40Gb and 20Gb partitions and installed Linux onto the 20Gb section, it now comes up with a choice menu at bootup to choose which o/s to boot from. A warning though before you try it, it would be a good idea to take an image/backup of your original o/s in case anything goes wrong.

Thank you very much. I will try this over the weekend, as I will not have to work. I hope you all are making some progress. Thank you for all of your time and help.

Hey Chris,

Any luck with the partitioning? Still looking to the hardware gurus to try out that program.

As far as the serial port goes, perhaps the manufacterers would know if it can be recognized in DOS, it would certainly be worth contacting them. I beleive there was contact information on several of the links I sent you before.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

I'll try, but their direct website has their technical support link down.
