hey everybody

i just wanted to know how to install windows 98 se on a blank hard drive i allready have the boot disk on a floppy i just want to what to do next

Howdy Genie,
Do you also have all of the system files as well? Like the cd or all the floppies?

Just go into BIOS and make sure it is set to boot from floppy then stick the disk in and follow the onsreen directions.

If the win98 cd is bootable then you can install directly from that aswell , see here for step by step instructions:

Or if needed from a bootdisk:

when i restart my pc i go in bios and put it so its boots from cd and i save settings then it loads but it says that boot from cd failled

Do you also still have the HD included in the bootorder?

If you remove the HD from the bootorder and set it to boot from the cd , then if the cd is not bootable then you would get an error like that.

Set it like this:

A: floppie
B: cd/dvd
C: HD
