Windows 95, 98 & ME - [Pending] ibm thinkpad 570 posted in the Operating Systems forums; i recently turned on my laptop running win98 and my cd,soundcard,and floppy are not working properly.it seems anything on the base of my laptop is not functioning.any ideas? the drivers ...

i recently turned on my laptop running win98 and my cd,soundcard,and floppy are not working properly.it seems anything on the base of my laptop is not functioning.any ideas? the drivers seem to be installed help!!!

Howdy Paulb welcome to the forums
When you turn it on can you ( of course this may be hard by not seeing it) but get into the BIOS. When booting up try hitting the esc or DEL key for about 10 seconds. Then you can try hitting F8 to load BIOS defaults then F10 to save and exit. Seems like somthing in your BIOS got messed up
