Default [Pending] I messed up my OID files

Hello,

I your HELP! I messed up my computer. I received my friends computer when he died so I do not have a LOT of details on what is all on the computer. I know it has Windows98se it is a Pentium 3. i used AOL and I messed up the MSodi.sup.vxd file it is alos looking for odihlp.exe. I accendently deleted the micorsoft Neetwork adapter.

I had a problem with the WAN miniport (ATW) it was making a LOT of copies in teh deivce manager and there was something with the network adapter in the AOL systems INFo. When I requestd that it ask for some other file it installed the network adapter and then that window would open.

Well, I called Staples and asked about the WAN miniport (ATW) he said it was safe to delete all the extra copies they had a yellow ! on them. I removed 68 copies. Then I went into anotehr area I beleive it was to set up the Microsot network mail. Found 3 more copies deleted tehm and then accidently deleted the Microsoft network adapter.

My computer was connecting to AOL ok until recently when the AOL system had trouble. I now am trying to fix teh microsoft network adapter ODI files. I DO NOT have teh orginal Windows 98 se disk. The disc I have was a copy of a Windows98se he has the registration ID number on it. I tried to use but the fiels are not there.

The now is also looking for NovellNetware Dos Driver disc I do not have. lsl.com whcih I believe would be on that disc. Is there anyway to fix this. I tried get the fiels off the Microsoft web site but it did not work.

I MUST be able to get online. I do not have the money to buy Windows XP.

If that dose happen is there a way to find out what other drivers and otehr parts the computer has so I can get tehm if I do upgrade to the Windows XP?

My other computer is missing the drivers for the modem. It has a ROCKWELL HCF PCI V.90 AND K56 (voice). If I can get the drivers maybe I can get that computer to work. It is an IBM Aptiva 2163-570.

Please ASAP. I am getting scared that I REALLY messed things up.

Sincerely,

Kathryn Schwartz

Hello Monkeymaker3,
Did you try uninstalling the network adapter and rebooting and see if windows picks it back up? And what does it say in your device manager under network adapters?
