Default [Resolved] win98 and home networking

Okay...couldn't get a new harddrive for my gateway so I found a compaq presario home networking computer pretty cheap, it was far away so I had a friend pick it up. Computer boots up, win98 screen flashes twice and then it goes to a screen that says compaq networking and then does nothing. The mouse moves but there's nothing to click on and I don't know how to get back to win98...it's going to be the only computer used but that shouldn't have anything to do with it right? Any suggestions?

Hi Mistchf, when buying a 'new' computer it should almost always be shipped with a OS disc, containing win98 in this case.
The best thing to do is download win98 bootdisk and start from scratch. That way you'll have good 'clean' sytem and the risk of problems/errors is almost 0% since the computer is brought back into it's original state,
Bram
