While sygate is a pretty good firewall you have to understand that NO computer is EVER secure! Just pay attenion to what you do on it and you should be fine...

Welcome to the forum,

Dragonlordrebel is absolutely right. There is no way to secure a computer system or network 100%. If somebody wants to attack your system, they will find a way. I hate to say that, but that is the way it is. There are some basic things you can do to prevent that from happening. The firewall, antivirus and adware is a good start. A couple of things I would suggest is dealing with email. 1. scan email from people you know. The reason being is just because you know them does not mean that their system is not infected with something sending itself to everyone on their address list (ie you). 2. Not even open any email from somebody you do not know. They might be sending something in an attachment or trying to get you to go to a website that will have a virus or something to go with it.

Just keep up with what you are already doing and add the things with the email and you should be good.

Also remember this....When sygate asks for permission to let a program access the net make sure you know what the program is and NEVER allow it to have server access...When downloading anything remember that unless the site u are on is trustworthy NEVER download and run a file with the exe extension...hope this helps

Thanks for you inputs JDrisc3480 and dragonlordrebel!

thesideshowbob, you can't do much more on software. Just pay attention to what you do and you'll be fine.
