Ok did what you said to the letter and still cant get to the sdrom drive to us the recover cd. Can boot fine with the bootdisk but no cd support. I even took the cdrom out and put a spare one in. However i can only get 9756 mb of space for partition and no more. I type in the cddrive:/setup.exe and it tells me that it fails to read or is waiting to read. I give it a few seconds and hit retry and get the same message again.
Is it even possible it could be the cmos battery? I am not sure what they do but i read it was the cause of some invaild disc errors on a few other sites.
Also i found the drivers for the cdrom i removed but the file is 2.5mb so it is to big for a floppy...since i cant access the cdrom even though it lights up on start up there is no way i think that if i put it on a cd it would install....
