hey there, welcome to pchf, you could copy the cd setup files tot the harddrive but then you wont be able to format your hard drive through the setup for obvious reasons (the files are on the harddrive), lets see what the techs think

Hi Genie,

Welcome to PCHF!

Would you not rather install a more recent OS like XP? There are freeware tools you can use to repair Win95, but in the long run you'd be much better upgrading the operating system now. This is depending on the specs of the computer of course though.

Pm u sent me: could i just do it anyways on one of my old pcs im trying to get windows 95 so my nephiew can have a pc to play his games on
Hi again, you could give it a try, copy the disk files to the hard drive and then run the setup, when it asks you where to store the windows file call it windows1 or something, also if at any time if it asks u to format DONT because formatting will cause the windows installation files to be deleted, once the installation is complete goto ur c drive and delete the old windows file, or you can go with scouse's idea and use a repair tool , hope this helps urs dave
