Hello ka_mcginnis

Sounds to me like a bad driver. Delete the driver by getting in the safe mode (while booting, press F8, go to Device Manager and delete the modem).

Try to download on a computer with internet the newest version of the driver and try to install the modem with that driver.

Hope this'll help you

Greetings

ok make sure before you load drivers that any unecessary programs are closed and not running . you can do this by going to task manager or disabling it in toolbar. Also how much ram or hardrive space do you have .? could be not enough ram , possibly defective ram modules . Defective memory can cause errors. Or if this isn't the case see how much harddrive space yo have . To do this go to my computer , right click on C , D, or whatever drive that you use . If alot of space is used up try to get rid of things you don't need or run scandisk , or disk cleanup. If none of the above works , your computer isn't fast enough or is too old. Or could be hard drive related.
