Windows 95, 98 & ME - [Resolved] app sharing on 98se posted in the Operating Systems forums; i am trying to use app sharing on a friends pc and they are running 98se and i get this message come up l.com does not have Application Sharing installed ...

Default [Resolved] app sharing on 98se

i am trying to use app sharing on a friends pc and they are running 98se and i get this message come up

l.com does not have Application Sharing installed (or it is disabled) and is not able to accept your invitation.

how can i rectify this, it's been so long since i used 98

Hey there spellbyte, hope you are keeping well.

Could you explain what program you are trying to use for "app sharing", is it MSN, Remote Desktop e.t.c?

I assume that you are using Windows XP on your machine?

hiya zimbo, could be better but life goes on

it is MSN that we are trying to use for sharing and yes im on XP home

Make sure you are both using the same version of MSN
  • Are the both of you using this from home or at the office?
  • If its within the office you might be restricted by "firewall" issues.
You could also try to disable your windows firewall temporarily and see if it connects.

Next time you get the error could you post a screenshot of it for me. (you can blank out any names/email addresses)
