Default [Resolved] new computer guy

Hello all,
I am new to this computer stuff. I bought an old IBM aptiva to learn about computers. It came with a 2.1 GB hard drive, I changed it over to a 13 GB hard drive. Installation was a non event. I have windows 98SE that I purchased, however I have misplaced the boot disk. I have downloaded mulitiple copies of the boot disk from diffrent sites and I still get the "non system disk or disk error Replace and strike any key when ready" message.
I have changed the BIO's to ready from the "A" drive only and no change.
Am I over looking something?
Thanks

you can make your own start up disk. under system tools i think there should be a option to make start up disk. or you may be able to right click your a:\ pompt in my computer to make a ms dos disk. look in your help files.

Hi kingdom802!
Welcome to PC Help Forum!

First of all, the message you get means that the system has not found anything bootable, on the drives or devices that it's set to boot from.
Can you get into your BIOS (by tapping F1 F2 F8 or Del on start-up), to check what devices and drives are recognized and what it's set to boot from?

Bluefish
