Angry [Resolved] Screen stuck on 2 and 16 colors

I recently reinstalled 98 and I am stuck on 2 and 16 colors.I have tried updating the driver had recent driver already.The type of graphics card is a STANDARD PCI GRAPHICS ADAPTER(vga).The colors did work at one time.

Poor Pat, you are having the worst time with this 98.

Can you have a look at your Startup Mode menu, the same way you get into Safe Mode, and verify that VGA is enabled.

Hello,are u talking abot the BIOS?If not could u please tell me how to get there.Eveything is working fine except for that and a pci mutimedia device.Thanks for all the help

Hi Pat,

No, not BIOS, if you reboot your computer, as it starts to boot up, start tapping your F8 key. This will either bring up a menu screen, or your computer will beep, telling you to stop tapping, then bring up the menu.

One of your options should be VGA mode, and it needs to be enabled. If not use your arrow keys to navigate and change that setting.

The other possibility, is in your BIOS, that would be to make sure that your Vid card is the card listed to start at bootup.

Hello I tried the F8 key,it gives you 7 choices ,there is nothing about VGA mode.Thanks again.
