Default [Resolved] Wireless keyboard problems

I have a pretty old Compaq pc and got a wireless keyboard and mouse via USB receiver... But when the PC boots up it checks for a PS/2 Keyboard and says no keyboard found, any way to fix it?

It works though, I'm using it right now... It just seems like the Compaq system checks for a keyboard, this happends even before windows 98SE starts up.

Hi Wildmatt, Welcome to the PCHelp forum.

Have you checked in your BIOS to see if there is a way to turn that off?

Upon startup you should be prompted to "Press XX Key to enter setup" or something to that effect. The most common keys I've seen are F1, F2, F10, ESC, or DEL.

Unfortunately I'm not too well versed with USB keyboards as I'm still in the stone-age and using a PS2 keyboard lol. It doesn't seem to be a major problem but like my "no 80-pin connector" error I guess it could be pretty annoying. Maybe your board simply doesn't recognize your USB keyboard until Windows starts up.
