as i just became amember, i do not know if this is the right forum, or not. i have a pc game that bought, and when i open it, on the jewel case it tells me this.copy protection requires cd-copying drive emulation be turned off to run this game. my guestion is how or were to look to no what iam looking for.iinstalled the game but nothing happens. i went to best buy and talk to them,and for $59.00 THAY would fix it so i could run the game.

Allow me to welcome you to PCHF as well. What CD Copying/Burning software do you have installed? Also, do you have Nero installed?

It appears as if your software has this new technology that will not allow it to run if there is a possibility that the user will copy the CD, so in order to get it to run, you will need to disable or turn off any CD copying software that you are running.

Or do you have an app installed wich can create "virtual cd/dvd drives? Like Alcohol120% or Deamon tools?

Where did you buy the PC games from and is it on original CD's?
When you try to run the game do you get any error messages and if so can you take a screenshot of it and post onto the forum?
If you receive the "copy protection" error again would you be able to take a screenshot and post it up.
