Exclamation [Resolved] Win Me Exeption OE error

I always get the blue screen of death from OE errors... I'm no expert and i dont know know how to fix this... And recently i got a new dvd drive and i get this error always when i insert cds, which is frustrating because i would like to back up my data and reformat the hard drive. But even though i reformatted before, the blue screen errors persisted, so i think i should get some help on fixing these errors instead...

I'll type out what i see with this "cd in the drive" error.

"An exeption OE error has occurred at 0028:C003CB40 in VXD ---. This was called from 0028:C1833270 in VXD ---. It may be possible to continue normally.

Press enter to continue... blah blah"

Im not able to continue, the pc crashes usually.

Ive been having other problems lately, like not being able to go past safe mode, but i fixed it by using creating a startup disc, using old registry files and not processing any of the system and windows initiation files. When i turn them back on, i get into truoble again, so im going to leave it that way until i get some help to do something about this...

I hope someone can help me on this, these errors are unbelievable! I'd appreciate any help at all.

Hi there Redefyne , welcome to PCHF.

The above quote seems to imply a hardware error , and a good place to start is the memory by the looks of it.

Do you have more then one strip of memory? If yes , can you try them one at a time to see if the error persists then?

Also you could give memtest a go:
