Just an update - the computer died before I could finish searching for an answer to my original problem. I won't go into the long story--suffice it to say my C-drive is wiped out--seems the motherboard failed while I was getting "help" for the modem (which was also failing) at a repair shop. Did I have everything backed up? (Ha, ha, ha, ha, I wish!). Am trying out new computer even as I type.
