If you are willing to start from scratch.. :computer_
...I'd recommend that you re-partition the drive using FDISK and then try re-formatting the drive again. The formatting will need to complete so if it doesn't (or you need help with FDISK) repost here for more help from the great pchf tech team!

Yeah, just to clarify, you use FDISK BEFORE format.
hmmm...your master boot record could be corrupt. Try this:
type the following at the MS-DOS prompt.
fdisk /mbr <press enter> (there is a space between fdisk and the / symbol)
format c: /u <press enter> (there is a space between c: and the / symbol)
Do you have access to a cd/rw? You cna download this bootdisk, (best out there) burn it to cd and slip it in your cd rom and let it load and have it do its auto tools to find what is wrong with your disk or anything. If not it will format it for you.
its still coming back insufficent memory i did as you asked fdisk /mbr at a prompt and it went to a prompt again then i typed in format c: /u it said all data on non removable disk c will be lost proceed y/n i said yes then insufficent memory .
