:-) Hey Guys,

Welcome to PCHF Mcconnolly,

If your PC came with restore CDs or the operating CD you can just take it back to it's like new state. If you want to make sure that there are no traces of your files left on the hard drive. You can reformat the hard drive a couple of times and then install the OS. Bluefishes way to reformat is a really easy one if you aren't going to include the OS with the computer.

Let us know what you are donating with the PC, which CDs, those should probably be the ones that you reinstall with.

Look forward to your reply,

T

You can also download Killdisk and erase the drive with that:

http://www.killdisk.com/

or Darik's Boot and Nuke:

http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Darik's Boot and Nuke:
That's what Mcconnolly was after in the first place, a way to Nuke his PC.
