I think I'm being difficult...

in system configuration Utility there is no Boot ini. there is a boot in the system.ini. tab but I can't copy anything??? Dreams

That's what we're here for.

Try this, right click on your Start button, choose Explore, click on Tools, Folder Options, View, make sure that Show All Hidden Files and Folders is selected, and also make sure that Show System Files is selected if it is there.

Now click on Search, (you should be searching in Windows,) and type boot.ini into the dialog box.

If you can find it there, double click it to open, it should open a Notepad box that you can copy from.

if that dont do it if you can boot from a boot disc type this is after the disc loads up (can be found here) http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm


fdisk /mbr

still can't find boot ini. maybe thats why I'm having problems..LOL

Any other ideas? I'll check out the link too.
