Default [Resolved] Heres one HELL of a challenge for you guys.... Please help!

Ok my computer is linked upstairs on win 98 with a built in intel 82810 desktop graphic chipset but im running my pc on a Geforce4 MX420 graphic card running from a PCI slot. I use ONE monitor but it comes up with two because there are two graphic cards running.

There has never been any problem with my computer and it hasnt crashed in over 2 years! Yesterday I attempted to move it downstairs, plug it in, (ALL the wires went in the correct place, only thing changed was it was plugged into a different socket) and turned it on. The PC ran fine but the monitor took 2 minutes to switch on before coming up with a message to do with "to activate this monitor got to control panel--> display....blah blah blah"..... nothing happened.... It wouldnt load up any further yet in the background I could here the PC still working.

Im not great at this but it must somehow have thought that i had to monitors and I was trying to plug in a second one. Before you ask NOTHING changed and now when I took it upstairs again and replugged it all. It still didnt work. So basicly it is a computer which is running without a monitor.
Safe mode did not work, nor did going into BIOS
How do I fix this?
Is wiping the hard drive the only option?

HELP!

Hello and welcome to PCHF

Bit confused by the above question, what do you mean by "comes up with two"?

Have you tried to plug your monitor into the onboard graphics card to see whether that is the one currently working?

Could you check to make sure that your Geforce Video card has not come loose and is plugged in correctly.
