:-) Hi Cons,

I am going to remove the fixed status of your thread.

I'll need to read your whole thread before I will know if I can help at all. If not Joe, or one of the guys will be on soon. Don't worry, they're the best?.

i belive i have the cause

somehow, a virus has made its way on and survived the reformating

when i ws randomly pressing ctrl + alt + del and looking at what was running there was a proccess called "regsrv" which, if im not mistaken is a virus...

looking at it this way it all fits
it crashed everytime i tried to scan for viruses (using panda active scan) then when i tried to install avg it crashed
i installed it in safe mode and scanned it crashed...
then starting in normal mode it crashed and before it did, the three avg proccesses were on...
so if this virus reboots everytime somehting tries to scan it then it fits...
i just have to zero the hard drive as it has escaped the format

could take a while

Start youre pc and open up the taskmanager and kill these processes if there:

win32loader.exe
regsrv.exe
and
Wmmiexe.exe

See if you can run AV scans then or get a hjt log.

If it doesnt work in normal mode the try it in safemode(hit f8 when booting up)
