HI, CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ON THIS PROBLEM, I'VE HAD IT FOR A WHILE NOW AND HAVE TRYED EVERYTHING TO SORT IT OUT TO GET IT BACK TO NORMAL.
ITS TO DO WITH DESKTOP ICONS THEY HAVE GOT COLOURED BACK-GROUNDS TO THEM AND DO NOT MEND IN WITH ANY WALLPAPER I HAVE.

CAN ANY ONE HELP ME TO SORT IT??

Right click on the desktop - select properties - go to the "themes" tab and select Windows XP from the drop down list - say ok to that.

Then go to the desktop tab and select "noe" in the wallpaper selection list - say ok to that.

Go back to the desktop tab and select your wallpaper - that should do it.

Actually, the answer could be much simpler:

Open "System" in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.

HI, YES I HAVE TRY THAT BEFORE WITH NO LUCK IN ADVANCED SYSTEM PERFORMANCE SETTINGS.
I HAVE TICKS IN ALL THE BOXS FOR - LET WINDOWS CHOOSE WHATS BEST FOR MY COMPUTER.

DO U KNOW A ANOTHER WAY OF SOVLING IT?
