:| mmm i did what u said but i started it up again and its gone back to being coloured so afraid its not working.

Try this:

My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Under Performance > Choose "Adjust for best appearance" > Apply

in display properties in desktop it works fine if u click on (none) the icons go transparent on to a pain blue colour.
but if you put it to a wallpaper goes coloured like the pain blue background.
