Default [Information/Pending] FAT32 Partition help

ok I have P233 with win98 Second Edition

I put an unknown D-Link in my computer then tried to setup it ...it didnt work took it out and try to start it up ... the first thing I notice was my computer said this:

Detecting HDD Primary Master None
Detecting HDD Primary Slave None
Detecting HDD Secondary Master None

then it asks for my boot disk ..sure so i restart with boot disk
computer then tells me:

Windows 98 has detected that dive C does not contain a valid FAT or FAT32 partition. There are several possible causes.

1. The drive may need to be partitioned. To create a partition on the drive, run FDISK from the MS-Dos command prompt.

2. 3rd party software ....dont have

3. viruses ... naw i dont have the internet on this computer

I go in to my boot disk and it says no fix disks availble.

trying to re-install win98

Cannot create a temporary directory.
If you have HPFS or NTFS installed on your hard drive, you will need to create an MS-DOS boot partition to set up windows

I dont kno what to do here

It sounds like it is still trying to boot off the d-link device, here are a few things you could try:

1 - Go into your BIOS and tell it to "Load Optimized Defaults" this should hopefully change everything back to the way it was before d-link

2 - If that doesnt work then check to see whether your hard drive is being detected in the BIOS
If not then try to reset the BIOS through the jumper on the motherboard.

If you post your motherboard model number then I could look up the manual and let you know the exact jumper.

Its normally labelled on the actual motherboard, all you do is move the jumper as indicated, turn the machine on (shouldn't power up) then turn off, change the jumper back and try boot up again.

A jumper is a small metal connector that acts as an on/off switch and is used to alter hardware configurations.

Check this site for diagrams of hard drive jumpers - Will probably be different to what your hard drive looks like, but its the same basis.
http://www.mysuperpc.com/hdu/jumper_pins.shtml

If you know the model number of your hard drive then you could post it on the site and we could find you the proper diagram.

Right the motherboard is that BIG board at the bottom of the case, the other "cards" that come off it are the adapter cards e.g. Video Card
