Can anyone out there help me with my problem..??

My internet couldn't be used.. everytime i click on my internet icon, the page don't load, and it says Cannot find Server and Page cannot be Displayed. Not only my homepage (msn.com) says that, every other webside i go to shows that the page cannot be found. When I refresh my page, it says its downloading from res://C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL\dnserror.htm.....

Can anyone tell me what happened to my internet? And if I reformat my computer, will the problem be solve? OR should I restore my old registry..? But if I restore my registry, will my files disappear?

Hi & welcome to PCHF.

Can you surf the 'net using another browser - for instance Mozilla or Firefox...this will prove whether it is an IE problem or not.

NP, go here: http://www.mozilla.org/ download Firefox (it will not replace Internet Explorer)

Install Firefox

Type in any www address and tell us if it works - i.e: can you sufr the 'net with Firefox?

Thanks for your help.. I've downloaded Firefox! but i guess I'd install in when my internet is down again. cos i can use it now. but after some time, it fails.. but anyway, thanks for your help!
