:-(The screen resolution changed to 640x480 for no particular reason that I know of. I seem to have lost the ability to change it back to 1024x768, and I also seem to have lost 256 colors. Does anyone know what might have happened? Or what I can do about it.My icons are huge, and I work with photos so I do need more colors!

Sounds like your graphics driver has gone wrong. This should be relatively easy to fix by re-installing the latest version of graphics driver for your graphics card. If you know how to do this then great, if not then post your graphics card details here and we can help.
