Question [Answered] Hardware selection

Hey, me again...now that I've got a plan I want to make sure I'm buying the right hardware.? I have a Dell Dimension, TPS450, 450 MgHtz processor (I know....bought it in 98 so give me a break!) that I need to buy a new hard drive for.? Is there a resource that will give me what is compatible with my motherboard/system limitations?? Or is as long as it is IDE compatible am I alright.? Is there a limitation on the BIOS regarding the size harddrive I could put in it?? Also, any resources for checking this?? Thanks!

John

Default Re: Hardware selection

Any IDE hard drive should work just fine. For checking on hard drive size limitations you will need to know your exact bios make and version and then go to the makers website. If there is a limitation on your bios as far as hard drive size goes you may be able to get around that by flashing the bios. HTH
