Default [Fixed] Win 98SE Problems

While my other unit is in the shop, I'm using one given to me by a friend....I guess. It is a GenuineIntel Pentium[r] Proccessor, 64MB RAM,? 80% system rescources free, 725MB of 2011MB [FAT]. Windows 98 4.10.2222A, IE 5 6.0.2800.1106. I downloaded a pdf file, only to find that it didn't have Adobe. I then downloaded Adobe. When I try to "open" the pdf file, nothing happens. When I try to "open" Adobe, I get: "check sum error, archive is corrupted". My computer knowledge is rather limited, except for those used in the automotive field. With the information I supplied, are there any suggestions as to what I failed to do or what I should try?

Your suggestions will be considered and appreciated.

Have a safe holiday!

Hi and welcome to the forum

First try cleaning out you temporary internet files and then try another download location like ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/? or? http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adob...2_ece_full.exe

Hengis,

Thanks for the help. I appologize for not getting back sooner but I had an expected need for a visit to my local medical facility. They didn't kill me this go 'round so I guess I'm here for a while. Still haven't gotten the old unit back but this one is limping right along.

Thaks again and have a good Summer,
jarnkm
