Default [Fixed] No sound onboard anywhere

I have a Systemax pc with a elitegroup k7vmm m.board.
I have Windows ME and Radeon 9000 video card.
It has a via ac'97enhanced audio controller[wdm].I also
have a Seal sound card[ssc-2] that doesn't seem to work.
I recently formated hard disk and installed my mboard
software,video,ATI International[display]O.S. software,
Direct X 9,s.card.I tried starting out with Windows 98
but thought some of sound files weren't installed so I
installed over them.I looked in device mgr. and both
sound devices were in there..for a while there was no
sound volume programs going but I got that going and
unchecked mute boxeswith advance controls.some of my
adjustment controls are not working[grey]

I tried to get update drivers and the wizard says it
installed the best drivers for it and couldn't seem to
find the right ones in O.S. disks.I tried to
get windows drivers and windows online drivers to
install them which worked fine on previous formats.
My property tab says my device is working properly but
another tab says it is not installed properly orthere
is problems[code 10?]I also dug around more and
found it may not have audio.sys installed but
I don't know where I can download this..

My sound card says it installed everything too but
I have called tech. support and they never returned
call..guess I will try again..

My speakers work and connected properly..

Can anyone help me PLEASE..You can also email me directly

Hi there

Have you tried deleting the whole of the "Sound and Game Controllers" part of your device settings - i.e: everything in that category. ME should find everything again and install the best drivers for the job. It's basically like starting with a clean slate..kinda
