    mouse won't move cursor


    I switched back to window 7 from windows 10 now the cursor shows up but the mouse won't move it. I've restarted, unplugged, tested mouse nothing helps

    Welcome to the forum. Did you use revert from setting in win 10? This seems to be a common problem that revert doesn't work you may have to do a repair. You could try an admin cmd prompt then type sfc /scannow see if that fixes it

    Yes I reverted from settings. Without the mouse I really can't do anything F1 and windows key do nothing

    Windows key should bring up menu then tab and cursor to run software

    Windows key brings nothing up, can't get past desk top. Guess I'll have to take it in and have it reloaded

    Have you not got a install dvd you can boot that and do a repair or has the pc got a recovery partition?

    No got it preloaded at Office depot got a recovery disc ran them says" fully recovered no damage to files" but still can't use the mouse, windows key doesn't work either

    Your booting from a recover cd and still no mouse then you have to consider its a faulty mouse/ keyboard or if its a pc with ps/2 connection the usb could be disabled in the bios. For the mouse not to work in win 10 and a cd it must be a fault

    Mouse works while restore disc is running. Should I go factory reset with the restore disc? I'm thinking a store bought restore disc isn't going to be any better than the set I've got
