Post AOL Connectivity Services

Do you use AOL 9.0? Are you on Broadband? Do you sometimes get problems connecting to the Internet? If so then you've come to the right place. Just follow this simple guide and you'll be up and running in no time.

CAUSE:

When you try to connect to AOL you may recieve the following message: DNS Server Unreachable or Unavaliable AOL 9 hangs at step x when i try to connect.

RESOLUTION:

1) Go to Start.
2) Click on Control Panel on the right hand side.
3) Click on Add/Remove Programs.
4) Click to highlight AOL Connectivity Services.
5) Click Change/Remove.
6) you will then see a dialog giving you 2 options:
  • Repair AOL Connectivity Services
  • Remove AOL Connectivity Services.

7 ) Click on Repair AOL Connectivity Services.
8 )Once the wizard has finished click Close.
9 ) You may be asked to restart your computer, click on ok or yes to restart.
10) Once back in Windows double click the AOL 9.0 icon.
11) Input your password as your screenname will already be listed. If its not select it by clicking on the drop down menu and clicking on it.
12) Click on Sign on.
13) You will then be asked for a loaction, this will typically be Home.
14) Click Next.
15) AOL will the search for your modem and bring up a message when its found it. This will say AOL has detected Broadband and will use this to connect.
16) Click on sign on.
