You'll find that backlinks work wonders, the more higher ranked pages that have links the more your rank will increase and as a result you will receive a higher search engine index and more visitors.

Also, try to think of something unique. What do you offer that no one else does? If you come up with unique content that is exclusive people and get it linked to you might get lots of visitors.
