Arrow online videos. which format??

hello guys,

im back after a loong time, was busy in my exams. d*mn those papers, am free now

k i now want to make a website which has a database of movies, not full length movies but small clips of ps2 games, or ps2 videos.

now im wondering how to do this, in which format should i store the files, ive noticed that recently all the movie sites have changed their video formats from .wmv to .flv such as putfile.com and many other, even utube stores the videos in .flv

adobe flash player plays these files.

now what is so special about this format?? and should i upload in this format too or use .wmv.

now my next problem is displaying the videos, initially i was planning to make the movies available for download for all, but then realized that will reduce the number of visitors coming back to my site. so now im planning to display the videos on the site online, like utube and putfile.com does, also guzer.com displays videos on their site which are in .wmv format and they use a windows media player to show the movies.

also can i use quick time,

so can ne1 plz help me out here how do i display the videos online, where do i go , where do i sign up and what do i buy for this.

thx in advance.

Chill out please, you would want to choose the format with the most compression. I don't have a lot of time to look into them but just make a bunch of them in different formats and see which is the smallest. You want smaller to save bandwidth.
