hello, im making my first site using frontpage, and have problems looking for a good free domain and hosting. any suggestions?

and also i cant set a homepage, recently i could set a homepage from folders view, but not now? so i have 5 pages and no homepage, how can i set it. help plz.

If your looking for your own domain name, I use Web Hosting and Domain Registration - Getting online is easy with Easyspace. There are many many others, possibly cheaper and/or more web space, but easyspace do offer quite a lot. One of the things easy space offer for example is statistics that tell you everything you ever wanted to know about your visitors, what links they have clicked on to get to you and even if those visitors have added you to their favourites. If your just looking for a place to host your web site, then you can get this for free. For example, PlusNet - UK's Leading Internet Service Provider, Broadband, Phone Calls & Dial-up will offer you nearly your own domain name, which would be something like www.yoursite.plus.com which may be a good place to start.

All you need to do to select a page as your home page, is to name it index.htm. This will be required when you upload your pages, as index.htm is that users will default to when they type in your domain name.

thanks for the useful post, i dont intend on paying for any services as i dont have a credit crad as yet and all other forms of payment do not apply to my country.

can u plz show me more sites who offer free domains and free hosting and to which google adsense can be applied. i know its asking too much but i have no other option.


and i already named my homepage index.htm, first it gave me a warning telling me not to mess with extensions and when i said change neway, it changed the name but still it is not that homepage, i.e. it does not have the homepage icon next to it in folders view

i checked out the plusnet u gave me and there is no hosting or domain option there, they offer broadband and phone services, do i have to sign up for broadband to get my account cause thats not possible, im not in UK

have you tyred Freewebs.com - Free website, free hosting, free webpage, online photo album, free blog, more! they do free webhosting but i don't know if you will be able to put google ad-sence on it tho

I'm not sure what you mean by homepage icon. I've not seen FrontPage automatically assign a unique icon to signify a homepage.

For plus.net (if you did decide to go with them), it is free, and they will give you up a dialup number, but you don't need to use that. From the link I gave you, click on Packages at the top of the screen, followed by Dialup - PayAsYouGo on the left hand side.
