Default Creating First Website...need Help!!

I really hope you guys can help me figure this out, and you haven't let me down with all my other problems and questions so far! So here goes...

I am trying to start up a little service of making photo movies and transferring vhs tapes and stuff for people. I have made up a Flyer and stuff. But, I am inetersted in maybe getting a web site as well, or at least try it for a short time and see if it will work. I have never done this be4 or helped anypne with buying and making a web site. I hear a lot of people talking about using godaddy.com. I would like to make a modest website explaining the details of what services I would provide and then maybe links so people could checkout sample movies or sample clips of the 30 movie styles I can make photo movies with and stuff like that. Can you give guidance as to how to go about this and the bare necessities I would need? LIke, is buying a private web domain from go daddy, at 8.95 a year enough to make a website like this, or do u have to get any additional services in order to have the ability to design it and make liks and upload info to it???? I do not know much about doing this, so your help WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANK YOU!

Hi Jimmy can I just say, without any wish as to appear insulting, that if you have never done it before don't pay for a site until you have some experience.
Here's a good FREE site hosting company that will allow you to do all manner of things and end up with a site that looks pretty neat.
Free Web Space and Site Hosting -- Freeservers.com

Default Created a site

Wolfeymole,

Thank you for the advice. I know I am a beginner, but hopefully I can learn quickly. I have purchased and domain from FreeServers.com as you suggested. I did not upgrade yet to a hosting package. But, I cannot determine if this site or an upgrade with this site will allow me to do with the website what I really wanted to create it for...which is to link videp samples of photo movie dvds that i make...photos with music. i understand i would probably require an upgrade just to have more space and file upload storage. but, with FreeServers, can u answer me if I will be able to eventually link a video clip? one upgrade it has basicaly shows ability to just do a slideshow of jpegs. Can u please direct me with this issue! Otherwise, I got my current web page done to my liking so far in about a half a day...I did not find it over all confusing...

The option I meant for you to choose initially Jimmy was the Banner supported one which you could have played around with at no cost.
Obviously the more you pay the more bells and whistles you get.
Have you chosen the centre package?

Default Not sure?

Hmmm...not sure. All I have been charged thus far is about 10 bucks for the domain I have chosen...which expires in a year. I am waiting for confirmation of my payment. Not sure what I did, then. I know they make it sound like I am making it temporarily or something for the time being. But, I notice there r no banners or pop ups whenever i go to it. ????

I have just looked and it's the 3rd option which is the best and gives you more scope with these things:
5 GB Web Space
100 Mailboxes
if(document.setCookie) document.setCookie("uows091406", 1) Easy-to-Use Site Builder
WordPress Blog
PHP, Perl, CGI, MySQL, FTP
FTP is the one for your pics, vids etc
