Default Re: Run and Shut Down icons disappeared, help with logs
Try the following to get your Shutdown button and Run back.

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
At the prompt type: gpedit.msc

The Group Policy Editor will open
Navigate to the following.

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > on the right you will see Remove and prevent access to the Shutdown command. Double click this and change it to Disabled.

Remove Run menu from Start Menu will be in same place. Double click it and change it to Disabled.

Click File > Click Exit
