Default Lagging Vista PC

I also got the IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL error. I keep getting it when I put disks in, it just happens. No idea why or what to do about it. I'm not sure what .dmp file to post, the only one I found was called Memory.dmp but its a few hundred mbs in size.

Edit: Just found the post where to find it, this was the only dmp file in that folder, so hope its right.

Adam- while this thread is related- you should post your own thread... so you don't get lost in the crowd

If you'll tell me what OS you have I can move it for you

So does anyone know what my problem could be? 9/10 times I put a game in my PC, I get a BSOD with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL message. Any help appreciated...

My apologies for the delay-- many times when I have gotten this particular error-- it has tuirned out to be a corrupted video driver. Since it is game-related-- I would try that first.
Your PC specs don't mention a brand for your 8800 GTX or your RAM.... these ar handy for troubleshhoting sometimes. You are using an HDTV for a monitor ?
Is there an error code on the blue screen?

Yes I use my HDTV as a monitor, have done for a long time now. There was an error code but the memory dump happened way too quick for me to write it down. Well my 8800 GTX is an NVIDIA card if you are wondering. As for RAM, I have 2gbs of it but dont know where to find the brand or make of that.

Edit: Just popped another disk in and it came up so I managed to write the error code down, here it is:

***STOP: 0X000000A (0X00000030, 0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0X8280B3DA)

Hope you can make some sense of it. The weird thing is that once the PC reboots, the disks are fine as long as they are inside the PC when I restart.

Yessir-- I knew your card was an Nvidia-- but there are many manufacturers that use the Nvidia 8800 as the basis-- and then add their own hardware enhancements.
Have you ever updated your Video card drivers?
