So you have no internet connection @ home?
Even dialup would be better than nothing... you can get a service plan for very little money. SP2 would take a very long time to download--it's a huge file-- but you could keep other stuff updated pretty easily. It would certainly be better than no connection-- a dial-up modem does not cost much-- and I've seen plans for as little as $7.95 per month US No wonder you are still running XP "original". I misunderstood your previous posts. my apologies

You downloaded the SP2 installer, you need the SP2 Redistributable. The installer is just a program that tells it what you need to upgrade to SP2, while the redist. includes everything that any PC would need to upgrade.
