I am experiencing a very serious and arduous problem with my computer, which requires some special attention.
When I switch on the internet it turns out that I have a problem with acquiring a network address. The error is:
Svchost.exe The instruction at ?0x7c910a77?. The memory could not be written.
Click OK to terminate the program
Click Cancel to Debug
Meanwhile Svchost.exe uses 100% of the CPU
The other error which comes right after is:
Generic Host Process for Win 32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Then there is another error:
Remote Procedure Call has terminated unexpectedly, Windows will now reboot
I have checked cmd/ipconfig and under Ethernet Adapter LAN there is nothing shown for Connection-specific DNS suffix and Default Gateway. Nothing changes after renewing the adapter.
When trying to repair the Local Area Connection there is the following error:
Windows could not finish repairing the problem, because the following action cannot be completed: Renewing Your IP Address
I have included below the Event Viewer System Errors and the Debug report.
Actions taken so far
- Reinstalled the network adapter ? National Semiconductor Corp., didn?t work
- Reinstalled Windows XP, didn?t work, same errors appear

Hi and welcome to PCHF - sorry for the late reply, I've been off feeling rather rough
Anyhoo... You may have a hardware issue here. Are you sure that you have a network connection? Have you tried another network card? Can you give us a breif overview of your network/internet connection. Thanks Gromit
