    hey!

Not sure if this is right section but here goes. . .

I recenty purchased a vimicro webcam off ebay, anyway i had troubles installing it but finally managed to do it and then it said i had no video capturing software or hardware i cant remember anywayz the seller told me to download a webcam 301 driver, so i went to the vimicro website and downloaded the one suited for my computer however at the end of installation it said that my computer may shut down if i have this on my computer so anyway i kept going, I used it once and it was all good and then the next time i went into the capturing thingo it shut windows down and came up with a blue warning screen and then started going a file dump or some sort?? so anyway i turned the comp off tried again and it did it again. So I uninstalled and re installed and ive done a diff driver the seller told me to upload but that still isnt working and im getting really frustrated. . . #!#
Anyway wen i turned the comp back on each time i got a diff error report sort of thing to sent to microsoft and when error reporting was completed it was like oh this is critical on your comp or something..

Any help would be reallly appreciated...

Yep-- but the error # can tell you why it crashed.

I let Mad know you are here-- be patient

    Hey Sharnz,

I'm leaning very much towards faulty RAM at this point (most common cause of BSOD's). Is there any chance you could post another dump/log around the same time so that I can confirm this. Also, in your Event Viewer, are there any events with the ID: 1003?

Shar, if you double click on that 1003 error, does the source show "System Error" with category "102"?

That would be consistent with the second dump/log you posted also, thanks for that. I think you have some other problems with your PC, but lets deal with the biggest one I can see at the moment, which is the result of a Trojan you have.

Please can you follow this Microsoft link, which will describe how to fix this particular problem: The computer may automatically restart, or you may receive a "serious error" message or a Stop error message in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, or in Windows 2000

Also, when that problem is fixed, please can you check out PCHF Prework on my signature. It looks like that's not the only nasty you have in your PC, but I'll leave that for our resident virus experts to clean anything that is left in your PC after that Microsoft fix.

Sorry Sharnz, that article is a little long an confusing. They have put the names at the bottom of the page under More Information. The malware names may either be, gbqxmhia.sys, upzvlbvv.sys or jsbmefvk.sys. Also look for one called vvftav303.sys.
