    Hi Folks!
I'm having trouble unhidding my temporary internet files folder.
I can view this folder and the file contents when I go through Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Browsing History>Settings>View files.
However, I can't figure out how to change the attributes of this folder to unhidden.
In Control Panel>Folder Options>View>Hidden files and folders... I have selected: Show hidden files and folders.
I'm sure that I have applied this setting to ALL folders at some point a very long time ago yet for some reason when I "upgraded" to IE7 the temp internet files folder is now hidden and I can't get it unhidden.
This should be easy to do but for the life of me nothing I'm trying is working.

    Hi

Because IE7 deals with the whole "privacy" of folders thing in different way to IE6, you could do either of the following:

    Set up a shortcut to:
    Code:
    Start->Run->cmd

In the command box type this exactly:
    cd %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
    Then type:
    dir /a
..or (and this is my recommendation), upgrade to IE8 or use a better browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

It's the same in both versions of IE (superior browser).
you need to goto Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> and then deselect the checkbox for Hide Protected System Files(Recommended) as well as the other option Show hidden files and folders

    Aka - the system attribute
    command-line attrib /?

Not sure what you mean by: Set up a shortcut.

I already had both of those settings applied and still no joy!
I can get to these files going through control panel or through IE but I'd like to use the faster, more intuitive and direct route of going through Windows Explorer.

Very strange .. i have IE8 and no problem seeing the folder in explorer.

right-click desktop, select shortcut, put the path to the folder in the textbox
    e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
