    Hello,

I have a modem and router in my bedroom connected to a computer. I recently bought a TV that has wireless netflix. The TV seems to not connect to netflix because of the signal strength. The internet and all the other applications work just not netflix. The TV in the room adjacent the router works fine, Im guess because its much closer.

I thought I was a genius when I bought a second modem and router to place next to the TV however it wont connect because it seems to know that I'm trying to connect a second modem. Is there anyway for there to be two modems? Or any suggestions on how to get netflix to work? I was hoping this would be simple since I had to have the first modem and router set up by a friend.

    Thank you

    Hello blueyedgirl..

Ok let's start here...You did make you an account in/at Neflix.com for your one free month of Netflix...correct?

Yes, netflix works on the tv next to the modem, Im guessing because its right next to each other. But the tv in the family room will not connect.

Ok have you used the account info that has been set up already on your new TV...like the name and password?

Also have you setup your internet connection with your new TV?

Yes, everything works but it wont connect. Again, Im assuming its because of the distance. Thats why I thought getting a second modem and router was genius

Are you asking the right question you can only have one modem connected but you can have two routers if you connect the first one to the second one via a cable

That actually sounds like it would work good, except the modem and first router is in a back bedroom and the tv is on the other side of the house. Running a cable wouldnt work :helpmeme:

I think Im just out of luck on this

I googled the homeplugs, it seems that both outlets need to be on same circuit. I dont think an outlet in the back room and family room would be on same circuit. How would I be able to find this out? I went from excited to bummed :nono:

There is a lot of mis-information about HomePlugs as far as using them in the US and the way US homes circuitry are set up.

I can't get it to work unless it is on the same breaker circuit, and or you may need a balanced breaker box..I have used Netgear support and they told me if the HomePlugs were not on the same breaker circuit it would not work and so it doesn't.. So if you can get a HomePlug to work thru out your home more power to ya...Check out this link .. http://www.pchelpforum.com/xf/threads/tips-a-how-to.114577/ Scroll down to post #4..
