Please perform a disk check, then you will be able to run the system file check until 100%

    CHKDSK /R /F:
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command Prompt. Please do this for each hard drive on your system.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter. Then reboot and let the test run. It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

Re: sfc/scannow and windows resource protecti

ok the chkdsk came back with a few errors mainly corrupt file attribute errors and orphaned file errors.

Not sure what to do about them?

now the sfc/scannow gets to 100% but comes up with it cannot fix all problem files.

So I do not know what to do now :(

    Any ideas or hints?

    thanks

I just realized that you are here as well:
    http://www.pchelpforum.com/blue-screen-errors/90160-blue-scren-death-back-2.html
In that, you said you gonna order new hard drive.

I also suggest for a re-installing window 7, but for changing hard drive, you might want to test your hard drive before deciding to buy a new one (Download the hard drive diagnostic tool from the manufacture of the hard drive site)

Are you trying to figure out what hard drive do you have?? I'm not very familiar with Everest so I'm not sure what you are referring to :D

Determine the make and model of your hard drive(s)

    - In Windows XP - Go to Start...Run...and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Click on the + sign next to Disk Drives and use Google to search the information listed there)

    - In Windows VISTA - Go to Start...and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Click on the + sign next to Disk Drives and use Google to search the information listed there

    Hi,

Seagate - | Seagate Download the Seatools for DOS ISO CD-ROM Image from this link: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools/seatooldreg (English version here: http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/support/seatools/SeaToolsDOS213bEURO.ISO )

    Maxtor
    - Seagate SeaTools has replaced the Maxtor diagnostics. Use the Seagate SeaTools links above.

Download the .Iso file and burn it to CD using http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/W7.htm then boot from the CD.
