When I run IE 64-bit, I continue to get a popup box that states:
" A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for internet explorer."

I am prompted to click continue and another box (manage addons)comes up showing bing.com as my search provider.

Is this an issue for IE 64 bit or some other problem? bing.com is set as my search provider.

Microsoft support gave me same fix to registry. Now today I haven't had the search provider pop-up box message appear. Will wait to see what will happen.

    1. Click on the "Start" button and then in the search box above the start button type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter to open the registry editor.
    2. Make sure Internet Explorer 8 is closed then navigate to registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders.
    3. After reaching User Shell Folders right click to the right site of the window and add a new "Expandable String value" with a value name of "AppData" and a value data of "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data" (without quotes).

    4. Restart the computer once this is done.
