    Hello Boys And Girls,

My laptop has decided to suddenly not turn on, there is power going to it, when the charger is plugged in, as the light is on, but it wont turn on.

Maybe the on/off button? Havnt a clue really to be honest!

    Any help much appreciated

Hello and welcome :) the first thing to try would be to remove the battery and the power lead so no power source is connected, then hold the power button on for 30 seconds then release, pop power lead in and try power on.

Hi I have also got the same problem: and I have unplugged the power cable from the wall socket, removed the battery and pressed the power button in for 30 seconds – I reconnected everything and the problem is not solved.

    Does anyone have any suggestions

    Welcome to the site.

I would suggest taking it along to a reputable repairer, it sounds like you'll need some more in depth tests to be carried out (that will involve dis-assembly).

Thank you for your quick response, this sounds like major repair work that could entail a lot of money? Would you recommend any of the high retail shops?

Unfortunately no, I haven't had the need to use them. I'm sure you'll get something from another UK member though.

Hi dan, is your laptop the same as the one in the title

Re: Packard bell easynote tj65 wont turn on!

How do you feel about removing parts from it.
I will try and find the manual for it. There could be a few parts that you can remove yourself before taking it to a shop. Memory for example.

Oh ‘eck I won’t take it back to PC World where I originally bought it from 14 months ago. Thank you for pointing that out J

Re: Packard bell easynote tj65 wont turn on – The exact same laptop. I could not remove parts from it; I wouldn’t know where to start etc.

    To Kinger and Dan

Have you tried running the laptop straight from the mains without the battery being in?

I can only reiterate what Hengis said in post 5 and that is to take it to a qualified repair shop other than what has been mentioned.

Obtain a quote first if you can.

Packard bell easynote tj65 dont turning on

My Easynote TJ65 is not turning on when I press the power button.
The screen is also loose at the right joint which the power button is located.
If you move the screen forward you will see a screw under the joints.
I think that I will find that there is a loose cable but not for sure.
I am going to have the laptop sent to someone who will have a look at it.
I hope the info helps, danwad.

I had same problem and had it checked. I was told that it'll cost me £70. £35 for the labour and same for new switch. I have since found a switch on eBay for £7 and a friend's partner said he'd fix it as it'll only take him 2 secs or so. Well the original guy called my brother and said that he has already fixed my laptop for £50. Not pleased at all by this, thought I'll share it with you so that you don't get overcharged !
