Im having trouble setting up my new wireless printer( HP Photosmart Plus e-all in one B210) on windows 7. I followed all the troubleshooting steps but nothing worked. Also, its on the network and it has its own ip address, but my computer cant detect it.

    Can you ping the printer?

Open a command prompt and type
    Code:
ping [the IP address of the printer]

Then it's not correctly on the network. Did you install the printer with the supplied CD? If you did then you would have set the IP address during that process - did you do that?

Re: computer can't detect the wireless printe

    Hello Hengis,

you seem to be someone how could help me here. I dont want to hijack this post but I have the exact same problem that Fishsticks had 4 weeks ago, the only difference is that I am able to successfully ping my HP B210 printer.

A little bit about my config.:

Windows 7 Starter on a Intel Atom with 2 GB Ram netbook and ESET Smart Security properly configured (meaning the security suite is not blocking the printer software from reaching the wifi router or wifi printer)

The HP B210 printer is set up to work on my wifi network. My router is listing the network printer with its own (reserved) IP address.

I was able to set up and print wirelessly form other notebooks (running windows xp sp3 with the same security suite).

I can't understand why I am able to ping and see my HP B210 printer from all devices (including the Windows 7 pc!) but not from the Configuration Software installed on the Windows 7 PC delivered with the HP printer... the same software worked with two other Windows XP PCs. (I even tried using the latest installation software available on the HP website)

Any suggestions you might have are highly appreciated!

    Best regards,

    Mauricio

Updated Info: The printer I am talking about is a: HP Photosmart Plus B210 Series, Driver Version 3.2 (works fine on Mac OSX and Windows XP)
